Critical miss table

If you roll a natural 1 on an attack, roll a d12 and consult the table below. Burst and blast attacks do not roll on critical tables.

1: Epic Fail
Your turn ends and you may take no further actions (even free ones) until your next turn.

2: Backfire
You take damage as if the attack hit you, however do not apply any non-damage effects (e.g. penalties to hit, stunned, etc.)

3: Oops, sorry!
The attack hits the nearest ally in range. If there are no allies in range, the attack misses.

4: All exposed
You are at -2 to all defences until the end of your next turn.

5: Heads up!
The object that you used to make the attack files out of your hands d4+1 squares in a randomly determined direction. It can land in a square occupied by another character. To pick the object back up you must enter the square it landed in and spend a minor action (picking up the object provokes opportunity attacks).

6: I’m gonna feel that later…
Lose d4+1 healing surges.

7: Over exertion
The attack hits, but you are dazed until the end of your next turn. This ends your turn.

8: Dishonour on you, dishonour on your family, dishonour on your cow…
Until the end of your next turn, any actions you take are made with disadvantage.

9: Butterfingers
The object you made the attack with falls to the floor in your square. You may pick it up as a minor action, but doing some provokes opportunity attacks.

10-12: That could have been worse…
No further effects. How very convenient…
